Oil tank trucks are known by various names depending on the medium being transported, their configuration, and the local designation. These include: oil tanker, tank truck, oil transporter, oil supply truck, oil hauler, mobile refueling truck, tax-controlled refueling truck, computerized refueling truck, diesel truck, gasoline truck, coal tar truck, lubricant truck, edible oil truck, crude oil truck, heavy oil truck, and oil product truck.

Based on their appearance, oil tank trucks can be categorized as: flat-head, pointed-head, and straight-head.

Based on their drive system, they can be categorized as: 4x2 (single-axle), 6x2 (small three-axle/four-wheel drive), 6x4 (eight-wheel drive/double-axle drive), 8x2 (four-axle drive), and 8x4 (four-axle drive). Based on load capacity, tank trucks are categorized as follows: light-duty tank trucks, small-duty tank trucks, medium-duty tank trucks, medium-to-large-duty tank trucks, and large-duty tank trucks.

What does the interior of a tank truck actually look like? A 3D animation shows how it's designed!
The tank structure of a mobile refueling truck is an elliptical cylinder or trapezoidal cylinder, made of high-quality steel plate. The entire tank is divided into single or multiple compartments, each compartment can be divided into chambers. The lower end of the central partition has a through hole, and each compartment has a reinforced wave baffle welded in the middle. This reduces the impact of the oil inside the tank during driving and increases the rigidity of the tank.
To prevent rust, the tank exterior is painted with anti-rust paint and decorative paint. A container indicator is installed in the center of the side of the tank, directly indicating the tank volume when filling or transferring oil. (Optional)
The tank opening is a 500mm diameter hole for maintenance. The large cover is bolted to the tank opening plate. A pin and an ear plate connect the small cover to the large cover. Turning the handle on the small cover clockwise tightens the small cover. Reversing the handle and releasing the ear plate allows the small cover to open. A breather valve is installed on the upper side of the large cover.
To ensure that the pressure inside the tank is roughly equal to atmospheric pressure during operation, a breather valve is installed on the large cover. When the oil in the tank expands due to heat or when the tank is pumped, the oil level rises and the pressure increases. When the tank pressure exceeds 8 kPa above the ambient pressure, the upper valve plate of the breather valve opens. When the oil is discharged by the pump or when the oil contracts due to cooling, the oil level drops and the pressure decreases. When the tank pressure falls below 3 kPa below the ambient pressure, the lower valve plate of the breather valve opens.
The vehicle features self-priming and self-discharging functions, can be used to dispense two or three different fuel specifications, and can be equipped with an optional dual pump.
The purchaser must hold a dangerous goods transport qualification certificate, and the transporter must possess a professional qualification certificate and an escort certificate. Tank Capacity: 3-7 cubic meters (3-6 cubic meters fully loaded with diesel)
Dispenser: National standard computerized tax-controlled dispenser with luminous LED display, automatic payment calculation, and pre-set flow rate. Includes a 15-meter automatic return reel and a high-pressure, corrosion-resistant nozzle. Major brands include Henan Zhengxing, Shanghai Bolai, Beijing Sanjin, Guangdong Hengshan, and other well-known domestic brands. Tank Description: Utilizing cutting-edge pressure-volume manufacturing equipment, this system utilizes a one-shot roll-forming process, mechanical transverse welds, computer-controlled automatic head forming, and fully welded internal and external joints. The tank is 5mm thick, ensuring durability.
Pipeline System: Made of all-aluminum alloy with dual upper and lower meshes, it enables self-priming, self-draining, and gravity-discharging.
Additional Equipment: Gear oil pump, breather valve, fire extinguisher, two 3-meter interconnectable oil suction hoses, safety warning signs, and onboard maintenance tools.
