Impact of New Regulations on the Industry
The new regulations impose higher requirements on the design and safety technology of sluice-type semi-trailers, promoting industry standardization.
GB 1589-2016 "Road Vehicle Outer Dimensions, Axle Load, and Mass Limits" standard interpretation: This standard clearly defines sluice-type vehicles as those with a cargo area that is a cage- or fence-type structure, separate from the cab, and equipped with a non-detachable top rail connected to the side rails.

CB 7258-2017 "Motor Vehicle Operation Safety Technical Conditions" standard interpretation: This standard sets out multiple safety technical requirements for sluice-type semi-trailers, including the mandatory installation of air suspension, disc brakes, automatic slack adjusters, and splash guards to ensure vehicle safety during operation.

Future Development and Trends

4.1 ▣ Popularization of Disc Brakes
According to the new standard, semi-trailers must be equipped with disc brakes to improve braking performance and ensure safety. According to the CB 7258-2017 standard, starting January 1, 2020, all newly manufactured flatbed and grid semi-trailers must be equipped with disc brakes to ensure braking performance and safety during operation. This regulation will promote the widespread use of disc brakes in the semi-trailer sector.
