Before starting a flatbed truck, a basic inspection should be conducted. Check for obstructions around the truck's parking area; check for any suspicious oil or water stains on the ground where the truck is parked; and ensure the tires are inflated to the required level. Tire pressure is a crucial factor affecting flatbed truck transportation safety. During transportation, tires compress and expand, a phenomenon known as tire deformation. This phenomenon is particularly pronounced at low tire pressure and high vehicle speeds. During these conditions, the internal temperature of the tires rises abnormally, potentially causing separation of the rubber layer from the cover, or fragmentation and scattering of the outer tread rubber. This can lead to a blowout and potentially a vehicle accident. Therefore, tire pressure on flatbed trucks must always be within the manufacturer's specified values. Proper tire pressure also significantly impacts a flatbed truck's fuel economy. Improper tire pressure increases rolling resistance, thereby increasing fuel consumption.
